Day Three

Ok, on day three I broke out the rotary sander and went to work.  I started to smooth the edges and start to shape it.

I smoothed out the edges on the back side.

Also, I flattened all the sides of the block, 

just so that it would be friendly to work with.

I then rounded the back sides of the helmet 

and started making the vague shape of the front visor.

I rounded and smoothed all the surfaces

 to get a bulky outline of the final product.

After much sanding and smoothing, 

this is what the block of foam turned into 

during the work on day three.
